Whales Class - Summer 1
Hello and welcome to the Summer Term. We have lots of exciting activities planned, we can’t wait!
Last half term the children in Whales class had a visit from a music theatre team and helped to perform ‘A Friendly Giant’, it was so much fun! The children took part in a May Pole Parade with some of the children from Outwoods School, it was so lovely to see all of the May Poles the children had designed! On 24th May, the whole school took part in a ‘World Cultural Day’, all of the children visited different countries in the classrooms. Whales hosted Hawaii, the children made fruit smoothies, played on the beach and dressed up and danced to Moana!
This half term the children will be visiting Drayton Manor for their summer special day! We will also be taking part in a sponsored walk, sports day and lots of other exciting activities.
Year 6 have got a fantastic opportunity to go on a residential trip to Standon Bowers this half term. The children will be taking part in lots of different activities including; caving, rock climbing, bridge building and so much more! This is an amazing trip for the children, as they will develop their self-confidence, social and independent skills.
Whales English class will be working on the ‘Jungle Book’. We are hoping to create a real Jungle in the classroom; using all of the children’s fantastic work!
Whales Maths class are learning all about measurements! The children will be taking part in practical activities to help them to measure different objects, understand capacity and to recognize heavier and lighter objects.
