Turtles Class - Spring 2
Welcome back after half term, we hope that you had a restful break. We are really excited for the new half term, as we have lots of fun and exciting activities planned.
Last term we focused on the story ‘Dear Zoo’. The children really enjoyed the story and learning about all the different animals. We enjoyed visiting Pets at Home and exploring the different habitats that the animals needed. Our favorite creatures were the fish! Some of the children had the exciting opportunity to visit The Royal Harris to celebrate Chinese New Year. This was a fun experience and the children tasted lots of delicious Chinese food and watched a Chinese Dragon Dance. The children that stayed at School also enjoyed a Chinese Experience with food tasting and music.
This half term our topic is going to be ‘Gardening’. We are going to be reading a range of books that link to this topic such as ‘Oliver’s Vegetables, Eating The Alphabet, and Oliver’s Fruit Salad’. In Science we will be exploring what plants and flowers need to grow and we will have our very own vegetable patch on the school grounds where we will plant sweet peas, strawberries and raspberries. We can’t wait to taste them when they are ready! We will also visit local garden centre to collect everything we need.
We will continue to use the school mini bus to go out into the community and visit Morrison’s cafe for a drink! We are looking forward to our trip to Waterworld!
