Submarine crew from HMS Victorious support Year 6 Residential

On Friday 30th June, the Submariners from HMS Victorious visited the children at Fountains Primary School to donate £1,016.20 towards the cost of the children's annual Year 6 residential trip to Standon Bowers Outdoor Education Centre in Stafford.

Nicola Price (Head of School) said: "This donation is always gratefully received and helps subsidise the cost of this residential trip, during this time the children have a chance to explore a different environment, learning lots of new skills. Many of our pupils will not have had an opportunity to go on trips away from home and therefore for many of them this will be their first time".

The crew from HMS Victorious, based in Helensburgh, Glasgow, raised the funds with a 24-hour bike ride on the submarine and arrived at Fountains Primary School in Stretton to present the cheque.

HMS Victorious has been affiliated with Burton more than 15 years ago and visits the town at least once a year to donate money to Fountains Primary School in Bitham Lane.
