Octopus - January Update 2019
We had a really busy second half of the Autumn Term.
We had a wonderful day out at Drayton Manor, we went on lots of rides and had lots of fun.
Our visit to the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime in Derby was also brilliant. We had great seats on the third row back and we all enjoyed it very much.
We hope that you enjoyed receiving all of our Forest School, Christmas crafts that we had fun making.
This term in our Creative curriculum pupils are finding out about Christopher Columbus and Neil Armstrong as part of our explorers topic.
In Science pupils are learning about Forces and Magnets.
In Forest School we are thinking about sounds we hear in the Forest and will be making some wind ‘clunks’ using natural resources. We shall also be thinking about wildlife in the Forest School area and will be making a variety of bird feeders.
In Mindfulness this half term we are thinking about tension in our bodies, and through some breathing techniques and yoga poses will learn how to relax if we are feeling uptight. We shall also be continuing to learn how to relax by using a belly breathing technique.
We have a couple of trips lined up this term; we are going out for a Chinese meal to celebrate Chinese New Year, and we are planning to go on a Faith Trail around Derby too.
