Fountains 'Walk the Wonders' to raise money for Friends
On Tuesday 27th June the entire Fountains Federation took part in a sponsored walk to raise money for Friends of Fountains. Classes and groups of children either walked a mile, 3 miles or 5.2 miles depending on their ability, meaning that everyone could take part in what is a fantastic annual event. The walk started at Branston Water Park, which is where the mile walk was held, but then branched out to nearby Tatenhill for the 3 mile walk and then onto the wonderful 'Battlestead Walk' which takes you through the lovely Branston and Tatenhill countryside for the 5.2 mile walk. All of the children then met for lunch at the Tatenhill Guide hut before walking back to Branston Water Park to get the coaches back to school! A great day was had by everyone, with no major casualties, just a few nettle stings along the way, the weather even stayed nice for us to enjoy! Well done to Mrs Rowley, Mrs Burke, Mrs Howlett and Mr Abbey for putting in the hard work of organising the event, and well done to all of the teachers, TAs and children for taking part!!
